RANDALL YOUR COMICS ARE REDEFINING *REALITY ITSELF*
March 28th, 2007 at 12:36 pm
Hah! Well, as much as Cory irks me, at least he has the gall to have a sense of humor about it. He’s never looked better!
March 28th, 2007 at 1:06 pm
Recursive-tastic!
March 28th, 2007 at 4:07 pm
You do realize this is *why* folks of the future will think we wore goggles and red capes?
March 28th, 2007 at 4:19 pm
We don’t?
March 28th, 2007 at 6:03 pm
Randall, that was the best thing evar. I don’t know when I’ve ever laughed so hard (and I don’t know what the bigger honor was — the Pioneer Award or the xkcd mention).
March 28th, 2007 at 10:31 pm
Nice! hey, on todays comic. i actually read the entire enders war series (up to the shadows havent read those yet) and… i still dont really get the joke
March 29th, 2007 at 12:06 am
Oh man that is amazing. XKCD > reality.
PS: Today’s strip? Freaking good.
PPS: XKCD? Is the best ever, ever.
March 29th, 2007 at 5:33 pm
I wore a cape long before I blagged’blogged/clogged the internets. Personally i learned wearning a pylon on my head works to a greater purpose of difference.

Re: Lan
When he’s in the space-combat simulator, when he’s commanding the troops, he tells them to think of the other team’s gate as “down”. Always “down”.
Hence, when he says that the fight was cancelled because the other gate was ‘down’, it was a double entendre.
You know, I found it way funnier before I had to explain it…

Okay, super-big fan of The Difference. That’s awersome. And true.
Have you ever thought about adding a printer-friendly version of your comics? Or am I the only one that likes to print them off and post them around the office?
March 30th, 2007 at 11:38 am
The Difference:
A psychological alternative to Popper’s line of demarcation!
March 30th, 2007 at 3:37 pm
Nickel: I do that, too. I go to only the image, and print that out.
March 30th, 2007 at 11:38 pm
Just wanted to say that the pictures in the Flikr album were superbly done. I really like the pic of the two nerdy looking guys laughing. Makes me hot!
Oh, and I still love XKCD!

Your comics rock my world. Unfortunately, I must inform you that your shirts (while awesome) are not impervious to sulfuric acid. This means I will have to buy another.
April 1st, 2007 at 1:48 pm
Hey - so about todays comic thing. I’m happy for you getting XKCD in a newspaper but I hate to break it too you… I don’t get/read the newspaper. Will XKCD still be available on the web? On your site - or on some shitty newspaper website?
Thanks,

Y’all are sooooo weird !
You do know the Hobbes killed Calvin?
BTW-I typed the answer for the spam protection and it said error, maroons !
April 2nd, 2007 at 1:41 am
Did it again, something wrong on this planet.
2nd BTW - And it was in non-Euclidian fractal space so I do NOT nderstand the disparity. Parse it.

Hey, could you provide a permanent link to the April Fools version? Was hoping to show it to a coworker, but it doesn’t seem to be up anywhere now.

I just want everyone to know that I had a lot of fun today. I live in the desert, just north of mexico. My best friend Andria and I found a clear runoff stream on a hike in the mountains and went swimming. It was very cold.
Also, red cape.
April 4th, 2007 at 5:36 am
I have occasionally been rejected by this spam protector time after time, only to realise I was typing in mathematically true statements which really weren’t the desired answer. 3 + 4? Why, 3+4 of course!
April 6th, 2007 at 12:26 am
he really wears a cape?
oh my gods.
April 10th, 2007 at 12:36 am
You all missed http://flickr.com/photos/quinn/437331163/
Or did I miss something and that’s actually Randall the great himself?

Re: Dream Girl
Maybe if you want it really, really bad?

Jamie: No, that’s not me; just someone wearing one of my shirts. It gave me quite a smile when I saw it, though!
Groonk: He didn’t used to wear a cape, but thanks to the comic, he does now!
April 11th, 2007 at 4:27 am
On the subject of The Difference: I really really like it as well and decided to trace it in Illustrator so I could blow it up to poster-size. It is now entertaining the masses in the kitchen of our EE-student house. Anybody interested in the .eps or .ai file?
April 11th, 2007 at 8:02 pm
How in the world do you change mile markers to 24-hour format?
April 13th, 2007 at 12:34 pm
Divide by the speed, silly.

a) Once again, you’re being pimped by Cory over at BoingBoing.
b) Regarding today’s strip (Chess Photo): Sick and Wrong! And Brilliant! Just frippin’ Brilliant!
and
c) Regarding the strip in general: You, sir, are a genius, of both the creative and the mathematical bent. With the stress on *bent*! Keep up the excellent work!
April 18th, 2007 at 9:40 pm
Just read the current comic- try http://www.straightdope.com . better than scopes, but doesn’t spend all of it’s resources on urban legends. On the other hand, Cecil is the man.
April 23rd, 2007 at 2:58 am
You know, the only thing that disappoints me about this image and blog post is that if we actually convince bloggers to wear red capes and goggles as a matter of course….
… This comic will be a LOT less funny 50 years from now.

god bless Doctorow and his awesome sense of humor.

The image of Cory Doctorow in goggles and a red cape has thoroughly permeated online cuture. In this piece about speculative fiction authors as high school students, it’s noted that “The boy in the red cape and goggles is Cory Doctorow.”
