New Apartment
I’ve finally left Virginia and moved to Boston (the Cambridge-Somerville area). I’m really excited. I try to avoid the teenage-ish tendency to blame everything on wherever I am (“I just need to get out of this town! This place sucks! Hey, can you put on another Simple Plan CD?”). But I really think the Virginia town I lived in wasn’t my kind of place. So Boston’s going to be good. I feel at home here already (it helps that I have some lovely friends in the area). Hooray for things happening!
I put a whiteboard in the front hallway so everyone could leave notes and so forth. Hmm. A shared space that anyone can write/draw in …
I couldn’t help it:
(click for larger photo)
I’ve got some Sharpies in a drawer in case I need to lock it from editing.

You know, I absolutely love your comic, which is consistently entertaining and often brilliant.
But this is just absolute genius. I hope your neighbors get it, and appreciate it. Thanks for sharing it with the great unwashed masses out here on the ‘tubes.
June 6th, 2007 at 1:26 am
you are fantastic!
like you need another fan, i know.
June 6th, 2007 at 1:49 am
I noticed you put dancing on your list, above even raptor-proofing the apartment! Clearly this is very important to you. Boston’s a great place to dance, and based on your comics, you might like the types of dances you can find on this web site: http://www.thedancegypsy.com/eventList.php?dances=on&festivals=on&from=2007-6-5&until=2007-6-12&radius=20&near=cambridge%2Cma
You can search based on date, location, style, and more. (It’s not my site, and they don’t pay me, I just think it’s cool). Give it a shot!
June 6th, 2007 at 2:02 am
Haha, that is brilliant!
Good luck in the new town.
June 6th, 2007 at 2:11 am
haha-amazing! hope you have some net junkie neighbours who get it.
what’s with the gravity part in the electromagnetic spectrum? didn’t get that: http://xkcd.com/c273.html .
best of luck for boston. my sister studies there, in wellesley. great city.
June 6th, 2007 at 2:49 am
Brilliant! I especially like the disputed neutrality on the shopping list.
June 6th, 2007 at 2:59 am
I did something similar to that once.
I used to keep a diary (I only gave it up a couple of years ago) - and I drew on each page to look like a Blogger page.
I only bothered to keep it up for a few weeks. Turns out I have even less interesting stuff to say when I know it’s just me reading.
June 6th, 2007 at 3:17 am
Welcome to Boston! It’s an awesome place to be.
Also awesome: xkcd, which manages to be hilarious, insightful and (often) touching, all at once.
June 6th, 2007 at 3:28 am
Wow… I’ve been a huge fan of the comic since darn near its beginning, and didn’t notice this blog until I StumbledUpon it today (well, technically, I stumbled upon someone who linked to this post, which link I then followed). That picture is pretty brilliant; so are, for that matter, the majority of the posts you’ve made so far. Nice work.
June 6th, 2007 at 3:40 am
I want to move [[This Apartment]] at least to get rid of the capital A.
June 6th, 2007 at 4:17 am
Ah Boston… beware of cellphones… (Just started reading Stephen King: cell)
..And speaking 1337 R0(|
June 6th, 2007 at 4:44 am
gotta love a new apartment with a great big white board.
i hooked my dad on your webcomic, too. the only one he reads. (he’s told me for years he is told old for webcomics. HE’S A COMPUTER PROGRAMMER and he doesn’t read webcomics. i’m just sayin’. of course, my first computer used tapes, so i KINDA know how he feels. kinda)
June 6th, 2007 at 4:48 am
I want to get rid of the capital A too, but I think “Penis Penis Penis” might be higher on my list of things to edit.
From my limited exposure to both you and Cambridge, I think you’ll suit each other. I live in the Other Cambridge — the Old World species.
June 6th, 2007 at 5:02 am
Bah. I keep doing this to the communal whiteboard in our living room, except you’ve done it better. And now, everyone who sees it will think that I’m imitating you. :’(
But but but! Does your whiteboard have a writable surface on the back? If so, you should make it into the Talk page.
June 6th, 2007 at 7:22 am
I was going to say…
“That is a really funny thing to do and I felt it was funny enough that I should stop ghosting and start posting”
But then I felt, really the people that will be reading this are of a different nature to those I normally meet and a short look into a thesaurus is needed…
“That is very much a most riotous activity to perform, as such I realised it was humorous enough that I should cease to ghost and begin to post”
June 6th, 2007 at 7:43 am
I think you’ve hit on an opportunity to make a few million bucks here. Sell a whiteboard branded by both Stephen Colbert and Wikipedia called “the Wikiboard” or “the Wikipedia Whiteboard.” Pre-print the MediaWiki template on the board, provide black (for text) and blue (for links) dry erase markers, magnets that are pre-printed with the templates (”{{unreferenced}}”, “{{pp-semi-protected}}”, etc.), and offer accessories like a digital camera to save revisions, a donation tray (”Your continued donations keep wikipedia running!”), and the option to have a Top 500 Wikipedia editor come revise your whiteboard for a nominal fee.
What do you think?
June 6th, 2007 at 8:30 am
SO MUCH LOFF XD
June 6th, 2007 at 9:17 am
Welcome to Boston! I look forward to hearing how you like it here.
June 6th, 2007 at 9:18 am
That is amazing.
(and welcome to Cambridge!)
June 6th, 2007 at 10:11 am
1. Welcome to my hometown. It’s a wonderful place and I never want to leave.
2. Your spam protection is biased against liberal arts majors.
June 6th, 2007 at 10:26 am
Get a webcam on that board. Hilarity ensues! Maybe!
Also, if you’re going to dance, do it right:

Aw. I’m sorry that you’ve left VA. Your presence here in the Old Dominion made us just that much cooler.
Swing by Fairfax/Arlington or even DC someday?
June 6th, 2007 at 10:31 am
Dude, you’ve been in Virginia? That’s my neck of the woods. Why didn’t ya tell me? :-P
June 6th, 2007 at 10:32 am
Randall, this is absolutely wonderful. If I see such a thing in the middle of my normal routine, I think I would blow up laughing…
Thanks for the inspiring look you give to things :)

June 6th, 2007 at 11:37 am
please make a pic of the whiteboard each week so we can see it evolve(/devolve) :)
June 6th, 2007 at 11:42 am
But honestly now, how long did you spend on that whiteboard, including design and implementation? It looks relatively involved.
June 6th, 2007 at 11:44 am
Fantastic. In my high school days, a few years before Wikipedia launched, our physics teacher used to pair us up and ask us to work out problems on small whiteboards. Those that were the first to get the answer correct got to display their handiwork to the class.
A friend and I always turned our board into a “white-browser,” complete with color graphics (well, depending on how many markers we could commandeer), navigation bar and advertising space. At first the ads were fake, but at one point a classmate paid us a whole nickel (!) for a 3″x3″ square on our board.
June 6th, 2007 at 11:46 am
Great to hear that you’ll be in the neighborhood. Makes September 23rd that much easier, huh?
If you ever need recs on where to eat or drink, drop a line.

Your blog is STILL not valid XHTML.
Wait
don’t tell me
you left the “Valid XHTML” link as a joke. AH HA HA HA. MAN YOU’RE FUNNY.
June 6th, 2007 at 12:28 pm
Welcome to cambridge! It’s pretty sweet in/around boston/cambridge.
(ps. is it just me or do webcomics authors love massachusetts?)
June 6th, 2007 at 12:54 pm
[...] This is yet more proof (if any were needed) that Randall Munroe is a genius. I particularly love the reference to the omnipresent “In popular culture” sections. This was written by the wub. So what license do your photos fall under? The same CC license as your comics?
June 6th, 2007 at 1:36 pm
FYI, Sharpies won’t keep it from being editable. If you scribble over sharpie ink with whiteboard markers and then erase it off…the sharpie ink will be gone.
Or at least that’s how it works on my whiteboard. (Example: http://images.julisana.com/ellie/bills.jpg )
I just thought you’d like to know so you can dink with your roommates. XD
June 6th, 2007 at 1:40 pm
Welcome to the neighborhood!

that would be awesome

Finally in my department so Akismet doesn’t think I’m spam.
Looks very college, that door. Too bad you’re coming to New England just as I’m heading to the Big Easy. Some day our paths shall cross and we shall drink until I can no longer remember Yoneda’s Lemma and you can’t remember.. whatever your drunk test is.

June 6th, 2007 at 2:36 pm
Here’s a question: How many marriage proposals have you gotten since the start of xkcd? Offers to carry your children? Requests to be your girlfriend? Free sex?
Just trying to gage my competition, you see. ;)
I kid! But, congrats on the move. Boston’s a great city. If you haven’t already, you should visit Shoenhof’s ( http://www.schoenhofs.com/ ), it’s language-geek heaven. (Speaking of which, there should definitely be more linguistics comics. Just sayin’.)
Thanks for writing such a great webcomic!

Welcome to the Greater MIT Metropolitan Area!
June 6th, 2007 at 3:27 pm
Allow me to be the nth person to welcome you to Middlesex county. Tips for living in the Cambridge-Somerville area: don’t drive Mass Ave between Harvard and Porter (it’s all lights); all roads lead to Punjabi Dhaba; Market Basket is vastly cheaper than Star; eat Wang’s; and when it doubt, park illegally in Cambridge, not Somerville - the ticket is cheaper.

I didn’t bring my car, fortunately.
Learned that one when I last visited. We forgot about street sweeping :(

June 6th, 2007 at 6:07 pm
You need to create a poster for today’s comic. I laughed mightily hard when I saw it, and I would buy a poster of this comic in an instant.
June 6th, 2007 at 8:09 pm
Won’t you *ever* stop amazing me? This one kicked some intergalactic ass!
June 6th, 2007 at 9:35 pm
You Moved? But I just saw your car the other week! I also got a couple of No Raptor shirts, and was going to go down to the Virgina Living Museum and have my photo taken with the raptor statue. Yep, Hampton Roads can be sleepy, but I hear the same about almost anywhere that’s not a major city.
Also, hypertext for whiteboards would be the shiznit. Tap on the board, the first board falls down off the wall, revealing another board behind it.
June 7th, 2007 at 5:52 am
Ah, ‘penis penis penis’. One of life’s most influential catchphrases.
Like, think about it. Julius Caesar was crossing the Rubicon. The Roman populace was like ‘WTF man?’ and he replied ‘penis penis penis.’ Think about it man. You might not know it, but those three words that describe the masculine genitalia… they forged our world, that phrase made us who we are.
Then you’d think God would be all ‘penis penis penis’ to Adam and Eve then, huh?
@Above Comment: What about going back a page? o:
June 7th, 2007 at 8:17 am
Dude, you are a total genius, I can’t believe how awesome your work/antics are, and your comic is brilliant! :D
June 7th, 2007 at 10:06 am
I read that as “Please see the retarded arguments in the other room”. Somehow I think that would have been more appropriate.
June 7th, 2007 at 2:27 pm
Watch out of hax0rs, they know that whiteboard markers can actually ‘unlock’ sharpie-locked whiteboards.
June 7th, 2007 at 4:21 pm
If you really want to lock the whiteboard, buy some clear glaze that won’t chip off. It’ll lock anything that’s over or under it, more permanently than sharpies will.
June 7th, 2007 at 4:59 pm
Welcome to the area. Every comic you post makes me chuckle, and I’m looking forward to your take on our fair city of Slummerville. Hope you enjoy it!
June 8th, 2007 at 12:38 am
“So what license do your photos fall under? The same CC license as your comics?”
I was wondering the same thing. This would make a much better image for [[Wikipedia:Whiteboard]] than the current one.
June 8th, 2007 at 1:47 am
It WOULD have been nice to have a Virginia talk before you jumped ship…
I feel like I missed the Pixies reunion tour…
June 8th, 2007 at 2:15 am
I’d like to see Lojban added to the list of languages.
June 8th, 2007 at 2:24 am
Is it a bad sign that I tried to edit the whiteboard to remove the ‘Penis penis penis’? As in click on the ‘edit’ tab?
June 8th, 2007 at 2:47 am
“the Pixies reunion tour…”
hell yes. i found out about that one the day after it happened.
June 8th, 2007 at 4:06 am

Hi there!
this is a brilliant site I lately find out. I have just moved in a new apartment too. don’t have a white board and wittyness or patience to make one. I like the idea anyway… if I had one I would have the same to-do-list although I went dancing right away:D
keep up friend!

June 8th, 2007 at 8:48 am
In reference to your Who comic… is it just coincidence or did you know that in Britain, a group of elderlies calling themselves “The Zimmers” got together to record a version of “My Generation”? The drummer is apparently 100 (I think!)
Apparently they’re at number 26 in the charts… if I recall correctly.
June 8th, 2007 at 9:39 am
Would you expect people to erase everything in the main window and write in the “edit page”, and then write stuff in the text box?

Speaking as someone who moved to Somerville (Teele Sq. neighborhood) recently, I have one thing to add to the above suggestions: stay the hell away from Foodmaster (on the corner of Broadway and Alewife Brook Pkwy) if you have any alternative. The liquor store just next door has a pretty good selection for its size, though.

Welcome to Camberville, it is a great place to live. Diesel in Davis Sq has the best coffee on earth, or maybe the best coffee within walking distance of the T station. And Johnny D’s Jazz brunch will make you think Somerville is the greatest place on earth. (Which is very well might be.!)

June 9th, 2007 at 8:18 am
Aha, you must come to Harvard and allow us an hour or two of XKCD humour later this year, then. Long sentence, that.
June 9th, 2007 at 6:09 pm
Speaking of human hamsterballs (what? Someone somewhere had to be speaking of it)… In Edmonton (Alberta, Canada), inside the world’s largest mall, inside the indoor waterpark, you can go inside a ‘hamsterball’ and run on top of the water in the wave pool. It’s an outrageous $10 for 5 minutes, but hey, just to say you did it. ;-)
June 9th, 2007 at 6:09 pm
I’m amongst teenagers now, and while I don’t see most of the stereotypes amongst my group of friends, the “This town sucks” mentality is prevalent. I _do_ live in Buffalo, NY though. That might contribute.
June 9th, 2007 at 7:28 pm
andy: Eeeek, what’s wrong with that Foodmaster? I just moved to Broadway and was thinking it would be convenient because of the bus connections…
jemp: I take 1369 over Diesel and Renee’s over Johnny D’s.
mollishka: hi! Wow, it feels like I haven’t seen you in pages. (ha)
Also - does the spam protection always involve a sum of 5 + x?
June 9th, 2007 at 10:03 pm
Maryr: Well, maybe I overstated. It’s just overpriced, limited selection, and kinda grungy. There’s a Stop&Shop not too far up the road into Arlington, after Broadway merges with Mass Ave, and a Trader Joes in the same area, so if you can get that far there are alternatives.
June 10th, 2007 at 1:54 pm
No one is asking the important questions here.
Such as, who wrote “penis” on the whiteboard?
And is s/he single?
Congrats on your move. I have moved away from the Boston area and discovered that the rest of the country is vastly inferior (well, CT is, anyway…).
June 10th, 2007 at 2:04 pm
maryr: where’s Renee’s? I do love and miss Johnny D’s, though … they have grits!!!! … and I’ll take Tosci’s over Diesel or 1369 any day, but since none are particularly close to the others, I’ll really just take whichever is closest.
June 10th, 2007 at 4:59 pm

PS if you’re making vacation plans, i’m pretty sure Canada is raptor-free! XD
June 10th, 2007 at 6:16 pm
Canada is NOT raptor-free. Canadian raptors are just smarter and better at hiding. I think they use the Royal Tyrell Museum (http://www.tyrrellmuseum.com/) as their base of operations. Have you seen the landscape around Drumheller, Alberta? It’s like stepping into another world, and I think the Raptors keep it that way on purpose. And I suspect Dr Phil Currie of being in their employ.

June 10th, 2007 at 10:17 pm
okay, so maybe not *completely* raptor-free… but i heard from this really reliable source that dying in Canada isn’t like dying in real life. :)
June 11th, 2007 at 1:10 am
Careful with that whiteboard, though. Now that you live in MA, the Boston PD might confuse it with a bomb.
Be extra careful and don’t allow any mooninites to infiltrate the topic. And if anybody brings a lite brite, duck and cover…

lol, and all that.
June 12th, 2007 at 11:53 am
You know, the Cambridge-Somerville area is RIGHT NEXT TO MIT…you’re going to have hordes of screaming nerd-fans mobbing your apartment if they ever figure out exactly where it is. So if you wake up at an odd hour of the night to a driving rain of playpen balls through your window…you know why.
June 12th, 2007 at 4:44 pm
Oh man, raptor-proofing is only your fourth priority? What, do you think raptors will loll around the beach, maybe take a break from savagely murdering humanoids while you dance and take care of administrative hygiene? You’re playing with your life here! Get those windows boarded up, pronto! Replace those doorhandles with smooth doorknobs! Plot your escape routes to nearby buildings!
Remember: Raptors do not care about your internet.
June 12th, 2007 at 4:48 pm

June 13th, 2007 at 1:34 am
Oh man! Awesome! Cambridge! That’s where I live! I hope I will see you around town! Most people here are actual humanoids and not animatronic stick-figure representations of them, so I figure you will be pretty easy to spot!

We should get together this fall and take control of the lightning generator at the Boston Science Museum to recreate comic 260. As Carl’s post said, you’re internet famous now. Time to utilize fame and conquer the Museum for fun… and profit….

Hey wait, the rob and emily one doesn’t make any sense!
‘for real’ is the same character length as ‘just sex’! He’s trying to cover up his callous, coldhearted nature by making out that he’s got Asperger’s, that creep!

Welcome to Camberville!
If you like Guitar Hero enough, there’s a bar called River Gods that hosts a Guitar Hero night starting at 9 (actual playing starts at 10) on the last Tuesday of every month. It’s five minutes from Central Square, which should be easily accessible from just about anywhere in the area.
June 15th, 2007 at 7:45 am
this is my favorite online comic, and second favorite… comic? (Sorry, no one beats Lenore.)
I’m particularly happy that you Raptor-Proof your house. i’ve been telling people for years….
June 15th, 2007 at 8:28 am
LOL… welcome to Taxachusetts… er, I mean, Massachusetts. Moving from one Commonwealth to another, eh? How appropriate.
Maybe it’s just me, but I always thought it would be difficult to raptor-proof homes and buildings in the Boston-Cambridge area. I hope you get that done soon!

FSCK!!! Anyone see this..??!?? I’m stocking up on Grape Juice…!
Fearsome Gigantoraptor is biggest feathered dino
http://www.cosmosmagazine.com/node/1387
(btw, long time reader, first time poster, love the comic, going into hiding now)
June 15th, 2007 at 10:06 am
Quotes of note from the article
“one-and-a-half-tonne”
“five-metre-tall”
“slim “chicken-like” legs…suggest(s) that it could also have been the fastest dinosaur on two legs”
“It was likely an open pursuit predator that would have been difficult to escape,”
“only a Tyrannosaur is of similar size”
(second and possibly last post, moving to Canada so I don’t die for real)
June 15th, 2007 at 11:02 am
On a completely different note
New Raptor
Better watch out for these, they may invade.

your white board is upside down.
data was provided by the white board
take notice the orientation of the logo in the top left of the wood border

This is hilarious. :-) I’m a Wikipedia admin and a huge xkcd fan and I think you have to be both to completely appreciate it. I especially like how the TOC lists “Controversy” and “In popular culture”, which happen to reference a couple of the more controversial practices in Wikipedia (POV forking and trivia sections). The languages list is cute too. What do the last two tabs at the top say? Great stuff.
June 16th, 2007 at 7:47 am
Hey - you’ve been mentioned on slashdot! Check the links in “Youtube to Host Presidential Debate”. Nice one!
June 16th, 2007 at 10:40 am
Welcome to Boston! Will you be at the aforementioned ( http://blag.xkcd.com/2007/06/06/new-apartment/#comment-7301 ) meetup?
June 17th, 2007 at 1:13 am
This isn’t specific to this blog, but your comic is so beautiful that I thought I should say something. I have fallen out of my chair laughing at nearly all of the funny ones and I can completely relate to the other ones. Thank you so much for existing and for making this comic.
June 17th, 2007 at 1:45 am
Heyhey! Welcome to Boston. I’ve loved your comics forever so if you ever need someone to show you around the area, it’d be like repaying a debt for hundreds of laughs.

I’m a bit late here, but I just had to add a comment to say how brilliant this picture is. (Particularly the ubiquitous ‘Controversy’ and ‘In popular culture’ sections.) If the flat I lived in had one of these, I’d actually want to do the chores. :)
Anyway, keep up the good work - XKCD really is one of the best comics on the web!
June 19th, 2007 at 12:01 am
My boyfriend sent me a link to the “Thoughts” one with a note that he was going to find it really hard to meet my parents. I was confused until I clicked and then LOL’ed for about five minutes.
…and I’ve been beaten to the news about Gigantoraptor. There’s something funky about it being the world’s biggest BEAKED dinosaur. Pecked to death? *shudders*

Virginia will miss you. :(
Enjoy Boston!! :)
June 20th, 2007 at 7:48 pm
While looking at skymall on an airplane I saw a life size blow-up hamster ball made for walking around on water. It made me think of this comic! I found it online:

love the pick up lines!! :)
the cheesiest one i’ve ever gotten was: I’ve lost my number, can i have yours?
it made me giggle, at least! still… a better response would have been to deadpan him with something like the xkcd number! XD
do guys actually think lines work??? :)

Welcome to Boston, I go to school here, at Northeastern University. I think you will like it MUCH better than Virginia, (though I have nothing against said state.)
Additionally, I’m worried by the fact that I had to think about the question in the spam protector, and I once called myself a math major.

you used to be my idol what happened?
the raptors will get you in the end if youre not careful
June 22nd, 2007 at 11:55 pm
I know this is a bit out of place, but in comic 276, wouldn’t have “for real” aligned just as well as “just sex” ?
Y’know. Just sayin’. Absolutely love this strip.

Keep it up, I wish I had friends like you in high school.

Listen to Emily. Schoenhof’s is excellent, and what’s the use of claiming to offer Sumerian 1337-speak* if you can’t actually support it?
*That is what you’re claiming, right?

Welcome to Boston! Once you have perfected your Sudoku on the T skills, you should check out Mike’s Pastries in the North End, its incredible.
June 27th, 2007 at 8:10 am
Welcome to Boston.
In case you haven’t already figured it out, you generally don’t need a car to get around unless you’re shlepping a crap load of stuff. Otherwise, the T is your friend. Or at least you would want it to be when you need to get from point A to point B.
That said, I hope you enjoy exploring some of the neighborhoods around downtown. I grew up in the South End which is adjacent to Back Bay and is nowhere next to South Boston. It was walking distance to Copley (pronounced cop-lee and not cope-lee) Square and Newbury Street.
Boston has changed a lot since I’ve lived there, but there are still some neat places to hang out and do stuff. Enjoy your new home!
June 28th, 2007 at 2:30 am
I randomally writte my comment HERE only to say that
your comics are great.
June 28th, 2007 at 9:30 pm
HA! Great! Welcome to Boston man. Lol, you may like it now, but you just wait until the winter comes… then it will hit you
June 30th, 2007 at 1:04 am
The thing that made me laugh out loud was that someone had literally written “Penis Penis Penis” on the Wiki page, since this has always been my shorthand for the need to have countermeasures when designing systems that “anyone can edit”.
July 1st, 2007 at 1:24 am
yay! welcome to boston!!! i hope you like it here! getting around is confusing! haha i hope you write comics about it :D
July 2nd, 2007 at 10:16 pm
I don’t imagine you’re missing the humidity, eh?
I’m sure as hell glad to have escaped Williamsburg for the summer (although I headed a bit further north than Boston).
July 4th, 2007 at 5:16 pm
I don’t think this town is anyone’s kind of place, unless you’re kind of boring, old, or a big history buff. :\ We’re planning on moving next year, maybe to Charlottesville. We’re gonna miss you, though. Come back down to visit! :O
July 5th, 2007 at 9:13 pm
You are my hero.
July 7th, 2007 at 4:46 pm
This is awesome : Note I can hack your sharpie whiteboard!
My co-worker showed me this. If you write over permanent marker with a whiteboard marker they both erase!
o_O!
Coolness
July 8th, 2007 at 10:12 pm
My first (and possibly last) comment:
Your comic is plain awesome. Stuits my humour perfectly and nobody around me even understands the jokes. Beats any other webcomic anytime!

Well if there’s one thing you’ve got to do in Cambridge it’s to see a movie at The Brattle Theatre in Harvard Square. Dig on it.
August 21st, 2007 at 10:47 am
Hello, and welcome to the neighbourhood. Personally, I second the Brattle Theatre comment above, and suggest the Porter Square exchange for the asian food.
August 27th, 2007 at 12:46 am
Now that you’ve left VA I’ve gotten a spot here at William and Mary in Williamsburg (moved in on Aug. 24), though I had solidified plans to attend only at about the point that you moved. Now all you need to do is move from Cambridge so that my transfer to Harvard is approved (heh, joking). Need an AC, though. Cambridge must be nice and cool this time of year, in the 80s rather than super humid 90s.

I tried clicking on FORTRAN, but the whiteboard still doesn’t compile. What version of FORTRAN should I be using?
August 31st, 2007 at 2:51 pm
By the way - the ASL version works *perfectly*. I turned the sound all the way off, and I could still read it with no problem after I clicked on the ASL link.

Welcome to Boston! I used to live in your neighborhood but moved to Arlington where the rents are cheaper, the grass is green, and the girls are pretty, oh won’t you please take me home… sorry, I was momentarily possessed by a hair metal band from the late 80s.
I’m bummed I missed the Cambridge Park event! That sounded like fun.

I have a friend going to Berklee right now…
His name is Cal, if you ever meet him… Listen to him rock, I think he has some talent. He was a member of Fantastic International here in Tulsa, OK.. But since he’s a Freshmen at Berklee, he had to move to Boston. I’ve heard from him, he’s loving it to death.
But I do hope you’re enjoying the new apartment. ^_^
